Our Story
Eclipse Hostel & Bar opened in December 2016 as a small guesthouse with a big idea: build the kind of place we'd actually want to stay at. A spot where you can grab a cold Chang from the bar, swap travel stories with people from every corner of the planet, and then walk 100 meters to the biggest beach party on earth.
Nearly a decade later, we've grown into one of Koh Phangan's most recommended hostels. We've been featured by HostelGeeks, The Broke Backpacker, and Nomadic Mick, and rated the Best Hostel in Koh Phangan for Groups by multiple travel blogs. But what we're most proud of is the community — the thousands of travelers who've sat at our bar, shared a pizza from our stone oven, and left as friends.
What Makes Eclipse Special
- The Location: We're literally 100 meters from Haad Rin Beach — the home of the Full Moon Party. Walk out the door, flip-flop down the lane, and you're on the sand. Haad Rin Pier is a 5-minute walk for island hopping, and Thong Sala Pier is a 25-minute drive.
- The Bar & Restaurant: Stone oven pizza, proper Thai food, cold beers, and burgers. Our bar is where it all happens — it's the social hub where solo travelers become friends and groups start their night.
- The Team: Andy and Rose lead a crew that guests can't stop raving about. "Rose at reception is so friendly and honestly the best host you could ask for." We speak English and German, and we're here to help with tour bookings, party tickets, motorbike rentals, and anything else you need.
- The Balance: Party when you want, peaceful sleep when you need it. Dorm beds feel private, the AC actually works, and the mattresses are proper comfy. The vibe's fun without going overboard.
